Enhancing Web Usability

The Client

Peninsula Environmental was founded in 2018 to focus on sustainability practices. They bring strategic lucidity to accelerate a business's environmental performance and become more sustainable. They offer waste & resource management services, sustainability services, and carbon services consultancy.

  • The client requested we redesign their website to be more user-friendly and interactive.

  • The outdated look and feel impacted their client reach with no leads/contacts/interest coming through the website.

User Researcher

I was the lead user researcher for three months in this project. I worked closely with a stakeholder (CEO), a product manager, and the UX design team.

I conducted in-depth interviews, surveys, journey mapping, and usability testing.

Tools I used Figma, FigJam, and Trello.

MY ROLE

Challenges

  1. First Qualitative Research: Since the NGO was recently established, it was their first time having a UX researcher and UX designers. Thus their first qualitative research, we had to work with no annual report, no feedback from past clients, and limited analytics on the website.

  2. Time Zones: We are all used to Zoom calls and meetings but we had many responsibilities alongside volunteering for uxrescue. So finding time suited for everyone was hard nothertheless we managed it well.

Final Research Delivery

The final finding was delivered through a zoom presentation, and later a copy was shared with the team and stakeholders.

Research Findings Suggested

  1. How to effectively redesign the discovery call & scheduling process?

  2. The need to improve page content.

  3. To create clear & short information on the services provided.

  4. Improving visual representation by breaking the long scroll homepage into smaller sections and increasing shareable content.
